Classroom Creations

The artwork created by our students is always one of the highlights of our spring event! The list below of this year’s classroom creations is a work in progress, so check back frequently for new items and photos of our classroom creations and the children working on them. Acorn: a canvas containing the children’s colorful handprints surrounding the beloved Dr. Seuss quote “To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.”

Pinecone: a canvas painting of a tree featuring colorful pinecones and birds made from the children’s thumbprints, with a quote at the bottom of the canvas about children growing up.

Samara: a round wooden tray with leather handles decorated by the children. The top features the quote “Friends Are Flowers in the Garden of Life” surrounded by a collage of flowers, petals and leaves, and the bottom features the children’s colorful handprints.

Oak: a child-sized chair brought over from Ripley covered with colorful oak leaves that the children decorated and applied themselves.

Pine: a child-sized two-seater Adirondack chair decorated with the children’s colorful footprints.

Maple: a collaborative art piece featuring a colorful tree made of natural wooden pieces hand painted by the children.

West Concord

Circle Room: the children splattered paint on to a platter using a variety of tools, including forks and paintbrushes (both ends!). The platter was then fired in a kiln so it will last for years to come!

Crescent Room: a white ceramic tray decorated with the children’s colorful handprints.

Heart Room: a queen-sized quilt decorated by the children with a Jackson Pollock-inspired abstract design made using a variety of painting styles.

Triangle Room: A trio of canvas paintings, each featuring a flower in shades of either blue, green or yellow. Each of the flower petals has been painted by a Triangle Room child using one of a variety of painting techniques, including watercolor, salt painting, marble painting, and painting with toys, among others.

Diamond Room: a canvas featuring white shapes from the CCC logo surrounded by colorful acrylic paint chosen and applied by the children. The children also added their colorful fingerprints to the back of the canvas.

Star Room: a white 12″ x 20″ serving tray featuring the children’s colorful handprints surrounding this year’s unofficial classroom motto, “All Are Welcome.”

Hexagon Room: a rainbow hexagon made from loose parts displayed on a 24″ x 18″ canvas. The children helped to both select the loose parts and create the art.
