Celebrate Concord Children’s Center FAQs

Celebrate Concord Children’s Center is a fun evening for the entire CCC community, but it can also raise a lot of questions, especially if you’re attending for the first time! Below are answers to some common Celebrate Concord Children’s Center questions … if you have a question that is not answered here, please contact CCC Development Coordinator Jennifer Saxe.

How does bidding work at the event?

When you arrive at the event, you will check in and be assigned a bidder number. You will use this number in bidding on classroom creations, purchasing raffle tickets and gift card grab bags, and participating in the live auction. You will check out when you leave, and your credit card will be charged for any items you have won or purchases you have made.

What is the gift card grab bag draw?

Take a chance on the gift card grab bag draw!  Buy a ticket and then choose your gift card from the grab bag!  Each player wins a gift card/gift cards worth at least the value of the ticket. The gift card grab bag draw sells out quickly, so buy your ticket early!

What is the raffle?

To participate in the raffle, participants purchase tickets and then allocate them as they wish among this year's prizes: an overnight at the Inn at Hastings Park and three very special bottles of wine.  The winners of each item are chosen by random draw during the live auction.

I can’t make it to Celebrate Concord Children’s Center until after the start time — is this a problem?

Not at all!  The format of Celebrate Concord Children's Center is very informal, and guests are welcome to arrive or leave at the time that is convenient for them.

Can I bid on a live auction item or a classroom creation or purchase other items even if I can’t attend Celebrate Concord Children’s Center?

Yes!  Contact CCC Development & Outreach Coordinator Jennifer Saxe about proxy bidding for live auction items and classroom creations and proxy purchasing of fixed-price items.

You do need to be present at the event to buy 50/50 tickets and participate in the raffle.

Can I attend Celebrate Concord Children’s Center even if I don’t plan to bid on or purchase anything?

Absolutely! Celebrate Concord Children's Center is a fun community night for all, regardless of whether or not you do any bidding or buying.

Is there food at Celebrate Concord Children’s Center?

There is always delicious food at our spring event!  Catering for Celebrate Concord Children's Center 2024 will be provided by Juliana's Catering and will include passed and plated hors d'oeuvres. Soft drinks on the evening are free of charge and there will be a cash bar for beer, wine and hard seltzer and cider.

Does CCC have a list of babysitters?

Concord Children's Center has a list of local high school students who babysit that we provide to our families for babysitting purposes only. Please contact Development Coordinator Jennifer Saxe to receive a copy.

What do I wear?

While there is no specific dress code for the evening, we encourage Celebrate CCC guests to wear celebratory attire!

How do I pay for drinks?

Your Celebrate Concord Children's Center admissions ticket includes soft drinks, and there is a cash bar for wine/beer/hard seltzer and cider. Domestic beer is $5, imported beer is $6, and wine, hard seltzer and hard cider are $8.

How do I pay for any items I win or purchase at Celebrate Concord Children’s Center?

The credit card that you used to purchase your tickets is securely on file in our event software, and all live auction or classroom creations winnings and fixed-price items will be charged to that card.

How do I buy tickets?

Tickets are available in advance via the CCC website. This check-in method allows your credit card information to be securely captured before the night and also gives CCC a sense of numbers to help with planning.

What are classroom creations?

The children and teachers of each CCC classroom make a special donation for Celebrate CCC featuring the artwork of that classroom's children. These donations are then available for bidding at the event. Win your child's classroom creation and take home a one-of-a-kind memento of their year at CCC!

What is this group bidding that I keep hearing about?

Each year, there are items in the live auction that are meant to be bid on by a group — items such as an evening of fun at East or West Concord with several CCC teachers for a group of children or a gourmet meal for four couple. Bidding for these items is most effective — and most fun! — when you put together the group going in on the item in advance. Group donations are listed in the evening's program, which is circulated to CCC families a week before the event and is also available on-line. Get your group together, designate a group representative for the live auction, and get ready to bid!

Where and when does Celebrate Concord Children’s Center take place?

Celebrate Concord Children's Center 2024 will take place Saturday, April 6, from 7-10:30 p.m. at the Sureau Family Discovery Barn at the Nashoba Brooks School.
