Common Fundraising Questions

Tuition at CCC is already high — why do you ask for donations?

Tuition at CCC is not inexpensive. The same things that make the CCC experience so special for our children – two lead teachers in each classroom, lovely outdoor play spaces, special programs – are also expensive. So, given that tuition is at the level that it is, why does CCC ask families to contribute to the Fund for CCC on top of this? Believe it or not, even though tuition is high, it covers only about 90 percent of the cost to educate each child. The remainder comes from the Fund for CCC, Celebrate CCC, grants, and other fundraisers.

What is the Fund for CCC?

The Fund for CCC (formerly the Annual Appeal) is a yearlong (July 1-June 30) fundraising effort to support the school’s annual operating budget. Donations benefit areas throughout the school, including tuition assistance, competitive salaries and professional development for CCC teachers, and capital improvements and maintenance at all sites.

How much should we give?

We hope to have as many families as possible support the Fund for CCC, and donations of any size support this goal. Gifts of all amounts are important and appreciated, and we hope that our community members will make CCC one of their top philanthropic priorities. Families who donate at the $1,000 level or higher become members of the Friendship Circle, CCC's leadership giving society.

For our educators and staff, the goal is participation -- the amount of your donation is not important! What matters is that you choose to participate on top of the heart, time, and effort that you already invest in our school and our children. Your support, in turn, motivates others to give.

When is the best time to donate to the Fund for CCC?

Support of the Fund for CCC is important and appreciated at any time; however, donating early in the school year allows CCC students to benefit from your generosity for a longer period of time. Furthermore, a strong annual fundraising campaign early in the CCC fiscal year of July 1–June 30 is crucial as it provides a gauge by which to plan for the end of the year.

We donated last year. Why make a donation this year?

Fund for CCC donations are received and spent in the current fiscal year, so CCC community members are asked to renew this support each year.

This is our family’s last year at CCC. Why should we donate?

Fund for CCC donations are put to work immediately in the school to benefit current students. Furthermore, many CCC families recognize that their children are benefiting from the generosity of families who have donated in the past—the Fund for CCC provides them with the opportunity to keep this cycle going. Departing families have the possibility to donate their $400 enrollment deposit to CCC—visit our online donation page if this is of interest to you.

Will I receive more than one Fund for CCC request?

Families who make a donation before April receive only one request. The spring appeal letter is sent as a reminder to those who have not made a donation by that time.

Does CCC accept matching gifts?

Yes, and we are grateful to the employers of our families who support CCC. Check this list to see if your employer will match your donation to CCC, contact your human resources department, or contact CCC Development & Outreach Coordinator Jennifer Saxe for information on matching gifts.
