May Parent Educational Panels
Wednesday, April 9th, 2025
CCC educators Lynn St. Germain and Patricia Collins are featured participants in two parent education panels in May:
- May 6, 7:30pm, CCC East Concord, 250 Old Bedford Road: Healthy Eating for Kids: Promoting Nutrition and Positive Food Habits in Young Children. This Concord Family Network panel features Joanne Csaplar, a licensed and registered dietitian and Early Intervention specialist, alongside Lynn and Patricia. Together, they will offer invaluable support by providing realistic, science-based advice and encouragement to help today’s busy families make healthy food choices. They will also share practical tips for making mealtimes less stressful and more enjoyable for everyone. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn about how to begin building these positive, lifelong habits in your young children’s lives!
- May 14, Zoom (registration details TBA): Helping Parents Navigate Challenging Behaviors. This Justice Resource Institute/First Connections workshop will focus on understanding the root causes of challenging behaviors to help parents respond more effectively and support their child’s emotional and social development. Lynn and Patricia will cover:
- The causes of challenging behaviors: understanding why children act out — whether due to unmet needs, frustration or developmental challenges.
- Strategies for managing behavior: these might include creating predictable routines, reinforcing positive behaviors, and using calm and consistent responses to guide the child through emotional ups and downs.
