This past year, CCC participated in Harvard’s Zaentz Early Education Initiative's research into quality early education. STARTING AT ZERO: Reimagining Education in America, is a new film produced by the Saul Zaentz Charitable Foundation that discusses the importance of accessible quality early childhood care and education with a focus on social emotional development.
Concord Children's Center was one of 27 sponsors of the June 10th Kathy Reticker Forum featuring 11 3rd Congressional District candidates speaking on issues facing Massachusetts children and families. Around 125 people attended the event. Read about the afternoon in the Lowell Sun.
The Forum was established in 2017 in memory of Kathy Reticker, former CCC Executive Director, former Executive Director of Acre Family Child Care, and beloved leader in the field of early childhood care and education and the non-profit community, as well as an inspiration to generations of champions for children and families. Kathy died in September 2016 from pancreatic cancer. The Forum was established by a partnership of non-profits and individuals to increase awareness of and advocacy for affordable, high quality child care and education for all children and families. The Forum brings together advocates and decision makers in the non-profit, government, and private sectors annually to share resources and learn from renowned experts. The Forum also awards scholarships to students in Lowell pursuing a career in early childhood education.
