Announcement of New Executive Director

Monday, May 22nd, 2023

On behalf of the Board, I am delighted to announce the appointment of Suzie Kornblum as CCC’s next Executive Director, starting August 7, 2023. The Search Committee, the Board, and those who met Suzie during her visit to CCC remarked on her strong business and finance background and her love for CCC. She is ready to both lead and learn from our committed faculty and staff, building on the strong foundation that has been laid by Pat Nelson, and lead CCC into the next chapter of our history.

New CCC Executive Director Suzie Kornblum with (l-r) her son Alex, son Christopher, husband Rob, and son Davis at Christopher’s high school graduation in May.

Suzie has an extensive history with CCC as an alumni parent and in a multitude of roles, including Board member, chair of the strategic planning committee, and as a staff member for six years as CCC’s Business Manager. Suzie left CCC to pursue further leadership opportunities, initially as the Executive Director of Sudbury Extended Day (SED). SED was a six-location childcare program regulated by the Department of Early Education and Care, with a $2.5 million annual budget and 70 teachers and serving 600 students. From 2016-2021, Suzie oversaw staff management, business and financial operations, regulatory compliance, and partnerships with the Sudbury town government, Sudbury Public Schools, and the METCO program, in addition to leading the organization through the COVID pandemic. Since 2021, Suzie has served as the Director of Admissions at the Tremont School, where she oversees all aspects of the admissions enrollment, and outreach strategies for a grade 5-12 independent school.

Selecting a new Executive Director is one of the most important responsibilities of the Board, and we are excited to have Suzie join us as our next Executive Director. I thank the Search Committee members as well as the outstanding Leadership Transition Team of Meg Ansara, Kara Barr, and Joanne Saideh for the care, commitment, and effort they have put into this process to ensure the very best leadership for CCC. My thanks to you as well for entrusting your children to CCC.

Over the past 19 years, Pat Nelson has worked to ensure that our students have an exceptional experience, and I am grateful to her for all that she has done in this regard. The Board looks forward to welcoming Suzie to our community and partnering with her to continue to make CCC an even more exceptional school.
