Board of Directors

Concord Children’s Center (CCC) is a nonprofit corporation chartered by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 1975. The members of Concord Children’s Center corporation are parents of children currently enrolled in the program, staff members, and interested members of the community.

CCC is governed by a board of directors that is primarily responsible for the Center’s financial and organizational oversight. The board is elected by the corporation from among its members and comprises between 10 and 16 voting members elected at the annual meeting of Concord Children’s Center Corporation in June. Board members include parents, community volunteers, and staff. The executive director is a nonvoting member of the board.

The board has several committees that we encourage parents to join, including personnel, finance, advancement, and long-range planning. All parents are welcome to attend board meetings and participate on committees. Parents are urged to participate in the policy-making process to ensure that CCC remains responsive to our families’ needs. Parents are also encouraged to attend or drop into board meetings at any time. There is a “public comment period” at the beginning of every board meeting to allow visitors to share a comment or question without staying for the entire meeting.

The board meets the second Wednesday of the month at one of CCC’s locations. Meeting agendas and minutes are available at each location, including the time and place of the next meeting. A list of current board members is also posted at each site. We encourage parents interested in serving on the board to inquire about openings and to attend a meeting.

Please contact CCC Executive Director Suzie Kornblum if you are interested in learning more about the Board.
