Where and when does Celebrate Concord Children’s Center take place?

Celebrate Concord Children's Center 2024 will take place Saturday, April 6, from 7-10:30 p.m. at the Sureau Family Discovery Barn at the Nashoba Brooks School.

What is Celebrate Concord Children’s Center?

Logo for Celebrate Concord Children's Center

Celebrate Concord Children's Center is the CCC spring gala that builds upon our many auctions of years past. This fun adults-only evening includes plenty of time for socializing, a live auction, our beloved classroom creations, a 50/50 raffle, and fun and food for all!

Winter Family Fundraiser

Some years CCC does one large winter family fundraiser — usually an ice skating party — rather than two smaller fall and spring fundraisers.  This event is open to all Concord families as well as families from surrounding communities and has a variety of activities for all ages.

Administrative Team

SUZIE KORNBLUM, Executive Director, returned to CCC in August 2023 after serving as CCC’s Business Manager from 2010-2016 and a Board member from 2007-2010.  Most recently, Suzie was the Director of Admissions at Tremont School.  Prior to that, she was the Executive Director of Sudbury Extended Day, the Before and After School Care Program in Sudbury, MA. Suzie began her career as a classroom teacher in the early elementary grades. Originally from Richmond, Virginia, Suzie earned her BA in History from Dartmouth College, with a minor in Education, and her MBA from The University of Texas at Austin. Two of her three sons attended CCC where they thrived.

MARCELA BEAN, Payroll/HR Coordinator, joined CCC in 2007 as a teacher with our Emerson program and then moved to West Concord in 2008 where she taught four- and five-year olds until 2022. She graduated from the University of Presov in Slovakia with a master's degree in education and earned an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Middlesex Community College.

LAURIE DIMARTINO, Business Manager, joined CCC in 2024. Prior to working at CCC, Laurie worked as both an early childhood center director and classroom teacher. She has a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Lesley University.

JOANNE SAIDEH, Director of Professional Learning, joined CCC in 1983 as a teacher. She was the program director at the West Concord site (then the Harvey Wheeler program) for more than 10 years. She received a Bachelor of Science in early childhood education, a Master’s in education administration from Lesley University, and a certificate in nonprofit management and leadership from Boston University.

JENNIFER SAXE, Development & Outreach Coordinator, joined the CCC staff in 2011. She has worked in nonprofit fundraising since 2000 in the U.S. and Europe. Jennifer holds a M.A. in International Affairs from The George Washington University, a B.A. in Soviet Studies from the University of Florida, and a certificate in nonprofit management and leadership from Boston University.

PENNI HENSLEY WAGNER, Director of Operations, joined CCC as a teacher in 1984. She became the Ripley program director in 1987 and the Administrative Director in 2022. She has taught the after-kindergartners at Ripley, the mixed-age group at Emerson, and the 3–4s and 4–5s groups at Ripley. Penni taught 4–5s and mixed-age groups in Medford and Cambridge before joining CCC. She received a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Indiana University.

Celebrate Concord Children’s Center

Celebrate Concord Children's Center is our spring community soirée ― this year's event is set for Saturday, March 25, at the Nashawtuc Country Club. Parents, teachers, alumni parents, and Concord community members all come out for this special adults-only evening, which includes a live auction. This year's event will also celebrate CCC Executive Director Pat Nelson and her time at CCC as she prepares to retire. For more information or to get involved with Celebrate Concord Children's Center, please contact CCC Development Coordinator Jennifer Saxe.

Special Friends Visiting Day

A very special morning when special friends of CCC students are invited to school for a light breakfast and to participate in a special activity. One of CCC’s most beloved events!
