CCC will be keeping the historic farmhouse at 250 Old Bedford Road and building a 7,063 square foot, two-story addition in the style of an attached farm in keeping with the neighborhood's farming tradition. This addition was originally going to be a 5,000 square foot, single-story building; however, we needed more program space and also want to retain as much playground space as possible. The design was therefore changed to a two-story structure.

CCC has had a site at Ripley since 1981 and across the street from Emerson Hospital since 1986. These sites have served us well, and we will be sad to leave them; however, the needs of our landlords (the Town of Concord for Ripley and Emerson Hospital for Emerson) have future plans for these sites that do not include Concord Children's Center.
The Town of Concord Planning Board will conduct a site plan review of CCC's plans to renovate and add an addition to 250 Old Bedford Road at its May 4th meeting. This is the culmination of almost a year of site and concept planning by CCC's team of professionals, led by our Project Manager John Amaral of Omni Properties and including Stamski McNary Engineering, DW Arthur Architects, Bayside Engineering (traffic engineers), and Lemon Brooke (landscape design). All interested people are welcome to attend the May 4th meeting, which will be held over Zoom.
Bayside Engineering conducted a traffic study for CCC for the intersection of Old Bedford Road and Virginia Road in February 2020. This study included consulting prior traffic studies done on that intersection by the Town of Concord, reviewing growth rates with the town, and collecting traffic data. Outcomes from this study will be used to inform the new site's pick-up and drop-off schedule and traffic flow. The Town of Concord will also perform a peer review of the traffic study.
There will not be a significant increase in the number of cars going to 250 Old Bedford Road compared to the number of cars currently going to our Ripley location.
Concord Children's Center is a year round program. We invite all new and continuing families to apply for our summer program. Children currently enrolled for 2022-23 will be placed first in summer groups, with newly-enrolled children for 2023-24 being added on a space available basis. The summer program is offered in one-week sessions, with a 4 week minimum for enrollment, from the end of the regular school year in June until the week of August 16th.
Yes. CCC will be the sole owner of 250 Old Bedford Road, and there will be no other school programs at this location.
